Signature Pips
go Home
Pips are little picture thingies that you see in some member's signatures. They record wins and publications of stories you created at Liberty Hall. This is just something fun to do; it's not required.
We currently have pips numbered from 1 to 10, as you can see below at the bottom of this page. Here's an example of my signature image with 5 pips made using the methods below:
How to Create and Add a Single Image to Your Profile
Adding pips isn't as easy as it used to be, but it is doable. In essence, you just:
- choose the pips you are qualified to display
- look at the image table below and save the image(s) you need to your hard drive, or copy the URL(s) of the image(s) to a text file
- paste the images together in a row to make one new image (use your preferred software or see alternative, below)
- upload that image to Flickr or elsewhere that has free image hosting OR add your pip at the bottom of the page and reference that URL
- copy the URL (internet address) of the new image
- go to the Forums
- select Profile
- select Set Up Your Signature
- paste the image URL into the Signature Image Location (url): box
- update your profile
The image won't show up immediately, but it will get there.
Alternative to step 3. above, using web-based software to create the end image:
- Go to LunaPic Online Photo Editor to use an online editor
- Upload (or enter the URL of) your first image, don't forget to select Upload Now!
- When you see the image, select Effects, then Blend Two Images (yes, I know you may need more than 2, be patient)
- Upload your second image (you don't get to enter the URL this time)
- Select Continue On To Blend This Image
- Drag your second image over and place it right next to the first image, make sure to overlap them a little
- Select Apply Blended Images
- Select Save to: Your Computer
- Select Home
- Repeat steps 1 and 2 above, this time uploading your blended image
- Repeat step 3, if you see the image you already blended again, then select Change Image #2 (your clipboard)
- Upload your next (this time it is the third) image (you don't get to enter the URL this time)
- Select Continue On To Blend This Image
- Drag your third image over and place it right next to the first (blended) image, make sure to overlap them a little
- Select Apply Blended Images
- Select Save to: Your Computer
- close the LunaPic Online photo editor
- Rename the file name to something rational
- Now go to step 4 in the first set of instructions above
Repeat steps above as necessary to add more pips to the image.
